Palace doubles length of funeral procession route
Article Abstract:
Buckingham Palace has decided that the procession to Westminster Abbey for the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales, will start at Kensington Palace, rather than St James's Palace. This will mean that the procession follows a much longer route, thus allowing more people to watch it. Two extremely large television screens will be erected in Hyde Park, allowing more than 100,000 people to view the funeral. Many more people are expected to line the route which will be taken after the service to the Spencer family mausoleum in Great Brington, England.

No flag flying, a Family far away, and the people feel uneasy
Article Abstract:
There is growing concern among ordinary Britons that the Royal Family is isolating itself as the country mourns for Diana, Princess of Wales. There have been many public expressions of grief, but the Royal Family has remained almost completely away from public view. Some observers feel that the Royal Family's reaction could combine with existing concern about the way in which Diana, Princess of Wales, was treated in the eyes of most ordinary people to create a very volatile situation.

The pursuit over, a people's princess comes home
Article Abstract:
The death in a car accident in Paris, France, of Diana, Princess of Wales, has been greeted with shock and disbelief by ordinary people in the UK. There has also been anger about the way in which she died, being pursued at high speed by photographers. Her brother, Earl Spencer, has stated that all media owners and editors who have ever paid for intrusive pictures of her are in some way responsible for her death. Consultations are now being held about when a funeral will be held.
