Parents who can't get no SATS satisfaction
Article Abstract:
Parents whose children attend a UK primary school which has not performed very well in the national league tables face the very difficult decision of whether to move their children to another school. Experts advise that good research is vital before a decision is made to move to another school. In some cases, factors such as a friendly atmosphere and continuity of education can be more important than purely academic considerations. It is also important to be aware that a school's standing in the league tables can change substantially from year to year.

A sting to her tale
Article Abstract:
People who suffer from anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction to a number of triggers, especially wasp stings, often experience denial, according to novelist Susan Hill, who is herself anaphylactic. She failed to administer adrenaline quickly enough after accidently brushing a dead wasp, and as a result nearly died. She now realises that it is pointless to deny her condition, and takes great care to avoid wasps. She still suffers from post-traumatic stress as a result of her close encounter with death.

Is school too much for the under fives?
Article Abstract:
A growing number of educational experts in the UK feel that children who are only four years old are too young to be at school full time. Even if the school is very caring and has good teaching resources, four-year-olds may simply not be able to cope. Some observers feel that the UK tries to introduce formal academic skills too early, pointing out that children in countries where formal education begins later actually overtake their counterparts in the UK by the age of eight.
