War is hell. We can't get enough of it
Article Abstract:
Human society and individual human beings do not really seem to be organised for constant peace and harmony. Instead, there tends to be a pattern of catastrophe followed by recovery. This is highlighted in reactions to the war in Bosnia, which is a catastrophe phase. Many people seem to be deriving a certain element of gratification from it, and do not want it to come to an end yet. It is still receiving extensive media coverage, and even some of the participants seem to be enjoying it in a strange way.

Woman's secret desire: to wash whiter
Article Abstract:
There are many indications that women are still seen as inferior to men. Large corporations, for example, patronise women, while women rarely feature among the honours awarded to civil servants. Even after their death, women have a lower status than men, with fewer obituaries being devoted to them.
