Patriarch's death opens door for dialogue with Castro
Article Abstract:
The death of Jorge Mas Canosa, who spearheaded opposition to Fidel Castro among Cuban Americans in the US, has created a great sense of loss among the 2 million Cuban exiles living in the US. It is uncertain whether his hard line against Castro will persist after his death. Most Cuban exiles in the US are still in favour of trying to freeze Castro from power, but they are increasingly aware that Canosa's hard-line policy has not reaped any real benefits.

The Central Peruvian railway stretches high up into the Andes, and includes the highest stretch of track in the world and the highest railway station in the world. It runs from Callao on the Pacific to the town of Huancayo in the Andes, and passes through spectacular scenery. At some points, it must climb extremely steep hills, and at these stages relies on a system of changing points.
