Peace, love and understanding
Article Abstract:
Copenhagen's Christiania community is a vast squat situated very close to the Danish parliament building. It is home to 800 people and is very much a centre of 'alternative' culture. However, it is now in the process of being legalised, and there is general move away from the more extreme hippy attitudes of the 1970s and 1980s. It has been a politically sensitive issue, and a compromise has had to be reached about its future.

Article Abstract:
Many of Moscow's new rich are now building country houses. These tend to be very ostentatious, designed to reflect the owner's wealth and status. They cost around 500,000 pounds sterling, but there is still a long waiting list. They are despised by the established rich, and are causing concern among genuine country dwellers, who fear that village stability will be destroyed and that crime levels will rise.
