UK banks are beginning to operate a range of fee-paying bank accounts that offer benefits such as no fees on an agreed ovedraft and 24-hour legal advice. Some banks now have two types of fee-paying accounts with different benefits. However, research undertaken by the Consumers' Association indicates that most people will not really derive any benefit from having a fee-paying account.
