Plenty of drama and no crisis, insists Granada
Article Abstract:
Labour's spokeswoman on the National Heritage Ann Clwyd has accused Granada television, the oldest Independent Television (ITV) franchise holder, of making claims during its bid for its latest licence that it will be unable to meet. Only two of the 13 directors in place at the time of the bid still remain in post and 25 senior posts have gone since then. This indicates that the company has lost a great deal of talent and will be unable to perform as promised. Granada's director of programmes David Liddiment denies that the loss of the jobs will make any difference, insisting that the functions are still there and being carried out by others.
