Why snails love city gardens best
Article Abstract:
The common garden snail thrives best when it lives near humans. A town garden provides the things which they most require: food, moisture, shelter and alkaline soil. Snails also prefer the broad-leaved herbaceous plants which are popular in town gardens. For these reasons, town gardeners often have serious problems with a large snail population. There are various ways of killing off snails, but none of them are very effective in the long term.

Music, the food of love
Article Abstract:
British composer Nigel Osborne has undertaken many music workshops in the war-torn city of Mostar. He has recognised the importance of creative education work with children in the city, and has recently linked with pop star Brian Eno to devise plans for a new music centre there. Through the charity WarChild, they hope to raise 4 million pounds sterling to convert a former school into a new facility.
