Professor Clifford Wilson
Article Abstract:
Physician Clifford Wilson studied at Balliol College, Oxford, England, gaining a First in Natural Sciences in 1928. He undertook clinical and junior medical training at the London Hospital, and then gained a Rockefeller Travelling Fellowship. It was through this that he made contact with pathologist Paul Kimmelstiel. He was professor of medicine at London University between 1946 and 1971, and director of the Medical Unit at the London Hospital during the same period.

Dr C.A. Pearson
Article Abstract:
Medical practitioner Charles Pearson studied medicine in Liverpool, England, and then in 1946 went to China, where he took a particular interest in leprosy. He became medical superintendent of the Wesley Guild Hospital in Ilesha, Nigeria, in 1952, and worked there for the next 23 years. This hospital gained a worldwide reputation for its innovative approaches to both preventive and curative medicine. Following retirement, he undertook consultancies in GP training.

Professor Sir Eric Scowen
Article Abstract:
Physician Eric Scowen was born in 1910. He entered St Bartholomew's Hospital in London, England, at the age of 16 and qualified in 1932. He left St Bartholomew's in 1936 to set up the Postgraduate Medical School at Hammersmith Hospital.
