Professor Carel Weight
Article Abstract:
Carel Weight worked at the Royal College of Art, London, England, where he was Professor of Painting. His work has been popular since the 1930s when he first exhibited. He was born in 1908 and studied at Hammersmith School of Art, London, from 1926. He became an official war artist during the 1939 to 1945 war, though the War Office rejected one painting because it depicted people who were panicking. He combined teaching and painting after the war and helped his students follow their instincts, rather than encouraging them to follow him.

Lord Swaythling
Article Abstract:
Banker David Montagu, who became the fourth Baron Swaythling in 1990, read English literature at Trinity College, Cambridge, England. He showed great determination to make Samuel Montagu a great merchant bank, even though he came into conflict with Louis Franck, who at that time was the main influence at the bank. He was instrumental in inviting Midland Bank to come in as a minority shareholder, but left the bank in 1973 when Midland took a controlling interest.
