Professor Harry Allen
Article Abstract:
Historian Harry Allen spent nine years as Fellow and Tutor in Modern History at Lincoln College, Oxford, England, before being appointed in 1955 to the Commonwealth Fund Chair of American History at University College London. He was one of the founder members of the British Association for American Studies, and was a driving force behind the creation of the Institute of United States Studies in London University. He became Professor of American Studies at the new University of East Anglia in 1971.

Ian Grant
Article Abstract:
Architect and interior designer Ian Grant studied at the Architecture Association. He was trained in the modern movement philosophy, but later specialized in restoration work. He was one of the founder members of the Victorian Society. He worked on some of the most significant 19th century interiors in the UK, with one of his largest commissions being the installation of air-conditioning throughout the Wallace Collection from 1976 to 1982.
