Professor J.Z. Young
Article Abstract:
Zoologist John Young developed an interest in biology at an early age. He studied zoology at Magdalen College, Oxford, England, and then went on to postgraduate work on the visceral autonomic nervous system of fish. He was mainly interested in the functional anatomy of the nervous system, and gained a very strong reputation as a talented invertebrate anatomist. Along with his anatomical work, he was also a driving force behind the use of the octopus for experimental neurobiology.
