Article Abstract:
Many observers continue to claim that UK prime minister John Major is not really an effective or powerful leader of the Conservative party. Redwood hints at a populist manifesto
Article Abstract:
John Redwood is thought likely to put forward a populist manifesto in his battle with John Major for the leadership of the Conservative party. This will include going back on plans to close popular hospitals, increasing the number of teachers and reducing bureaucracy. He is determined to gain broad appeal, although does not believe that the UK should withdraw from the European Union.
