Risked death? Had septuplets? Welcome to the age of miracles
Article Abstract:
It has become extremely common in the UK for the concept of a miracle to be taken far beyond its original meaning, that of divine intervention that temporarily defies the laws of nature. The media seems to use the word miracle to describe any slightly unusual event, especially if somebody has narrowly escaped being killed. The concept of a miracle is now frequently used by people who have no religious faith. Miracles have become secularized, and have lost their power to amaze ordinary people.

Burning in cyber hell? The last thing you need is Help
Article Abstract:
Many people find it very hard to work out exactly how they should use their home computer. They spend many hours looking through the manual, but fail to find the information they require. Similarly, the computer's own Help function is often extremely frustrating, never quite giving the right information. Some people turn to the customer help-line operated by the company which manufactured the software, but in this case too often fail to obtain an appropriate answer to their query.
