Roll up, roll up...
Article Abstract:
Victorian freak shows may appear inhumane to modern commentators, but the bodily abnormalities of the people exhibited were celebrated, and they were no more exploited than other employees at that time. The most famous performers' pay in this fields was indeed higher than that of many other performers. We see ourselves as morally superior to the Victorians, yet there are parallels with old-fashioned freak shows in 'The Jerry Springer Show', and in a Brazilian show called 'Ratinho'.

The Holy Roman Emperor is alive and well and living in Teddington
Article Abstract:
Karl von Wettinberg believes that there is nothing wrong with his decision to legally establish himself as Holy Roman Emperor, as the title, which has not been used since 1806, was elective rather than hereditary. He emphasizes that he has always been a monarchist, but not in a sycophantic way. He denies that he will sell any titles or honours, but acknowledges that he may give a title to someone he likes in return for a gift.
