Half a life in jail for killing 'he did not commit.' (John Roberts)
Article Abstract:
John Roberts claims that he was not guilty of the murder in 1979 of Daniel Sands, who had been shot in the head and whose body was discovered in Mar 1982. Roberts was released from prison in Aug 1997 after serving more than 15 years for this crime. His case is now to be considered by the Court of Appeal. His lawyers will argue that at the time of the crime he was a vulnerable teenager who was treated inappropriately by detectives. Furthermore, a key suspect was not interrogated in court.
