Screens will never be same again
Article Abstract:
Liquid crystal displays little power at low voltage compared to cathode ray tubes. Their twisted nematic liquid crystals have a slow pixel response time and poor contrast. The next generation is ferroelectric liquid crystal displays (FLCD) which will bring flat, high-definition television screens which hang on the wall. FLCDs use a different type of liquid crystal which is bistable. Their fast response makes them ideal for pen-based computer systems.GEC is developing an autonomous electronic label.

The whole world in a spin
Article Abstract:
Games titles currently dominate the CD-Rom market, but the non-games CD-Rom sector is set to expand rapidly as many new titles are released. Many CD-Roms are still very expensive, but publishers and retailers are now working to reduce prices. It may also soon be possible to rent discs. CD-Rom technology is set to have a strong impact in all areas of life, both for business and leisure use.
