Security is just a phone call away
Article Abstract:
It is not yet particularly common for pensions to be purchased over the phone in the UK. However, there are now clear moves in this direction, with Colonial Direct, for example, recently having launched an inexpensive, flexible personal pension plan which can be purchased through two telephone interviews. This approach has the potential to make buying a pension considerably less complicated, and could make pensions available to people who are currently neglected, especially women.

Collectors answere call of the card
Article Abstract:
It is thought that there are now around 4 million collectors of phone cards worldwide, and a strong commercial element is emerging. Most phone cards are intended simply for ordinary use, and have no value at all once they have been used. However, special sets and commemorative issues are highly valued by collectors. Both BT and Mercury have produced promotional cards for big companies, and individuals, clubs and charities have commissioned their own limited editions.

Who'd be a landlord?
Article Abstract:
Many people in the UK are now choosing to let an inherited home on a shorthold tenancy instead of selling it, as low property prices are not encouraging sales. In many cases, letting out a property can be profitbale, although the rental market is still much narrower than the market for properties to buy and sell. Urban rents are generally 10-15% higher than rural rents, but rent levels are determined by the type of property, rather than its location.
