Sex, drugs and megabucks
Article Abstract:
Sales of pre-recorded music in the UK reached 900 million pounds sterling in 1994, and the record industry generated 1.15 billion pounds sterling in exports, with a trade surplus of 571 million pounds sterling. However, British pop music does not currently dominate the music scene in the US, and even in Europe, where US and UK acts have traditionally been very popular, indigenous acts are starting to take a growing market share. Some observers believe that this trend may be reversed soon, as they see UK acts poised to achieve new breakthroughs abroad.

Here was a potentially extraordinary marriage: Gullit, with his looks and honours, and Chelsea
Article Abstract:
Chelsea Football Club has had little real success over recent years, but it has still managed to attract international star Ruud Gullit. Club manager Glenn Hoddle no doubt made Gullit aware of the problems facing the club, but he still chose to sign up. The club now seems to have reached a turning point, benefiting from investment by director Matthew Harding.
