Sir Alan Glyn

Journalist, physician, lawyer and politician Alan Glyn read Natural Sciences at Caius College, Cambridge, England. He served in India and Burma during the second world war, and was demobilized as a Brigade Major in 1946. He completed his medical studies in 1948 and went into general practice. He also qualified in law, and was Conservative MP for Clapham, London, England, between 1959 and 1964, for Windsor, England, between 1970 and 1974 and for Windsor and Maidenhead, England, between 1974 and 1992.

Lord Taylor of Gryfe

Businessman and public servant Thomas Taylor was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1912. He joined the Scottish Co-Operative Wholesale Society at the age of 14, and was president of this organization between 1965 and 1970.
