Another day, another terrible Balkan tragedy
Article Abstract:
The conflict in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, has led to more than 250,000 people being displaced. It is clear that a humanitarian catastrophe is looming, but Nato seems very unwilling to take effective action to bring the fighting to an end. There is evidence of human rights abuses, with Serbs separating men from among the Kosovo Albanian refugees. It is now time to realize that Slobodan Milosevic cannot be trusted and to take action to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe.

Our greatest thinker, who straddled a terrible century
Article Abstract:
The life of Sir Isaiah Berlin, a prominent political theorist, historian, academic and diplomat, closely mirrored the history of the 20th century. He became particularly highly respected for his scholarship and his ability to communicate this to ordinary people. His mind was overflowing with ideas, and the great speed of his speech reflected this. He combined the study of history and philosophy, and was a student of ideas who also moulded the ideas of others.
