Article Abstract:
Software piracy is endemic in Europe and security groups employed by big software companies are raiding companies and local authorities, some of whom get taken to court. Illegal infringement of copyright loses software companies 3 billion pounds sterling annually in Europe, 300 million pounds of that in Britain. The Federation Against Software Theft, has tried education to underline the illegality of copying, but the Business Software Alliance of the US, raids companies such as the Mirror Group or authorities such as London Borough of Greenwich, and effects a settlement or takes them to court.

Mean streets: has Bochco gone too far this time?
Article Abstract:
There are likely to be very mixed reactions in the US to 'Brooklyn South,' the latest police serial from producer Steve Bochco. This will be the first regular show on a television network in the US to bear an 'Adults Only' warning. Critics believe that the show is too brutal, but this view has been rejected by Bochco, who believes that the show is suitable for older children, as long as their parents watch it with them. This controversy comes at a time when pressure groups are calling for tighter controls on violence on television.

What to you mean, you don't eat veal?
Article Abstract:
Veal production in Britain slumped in the 1980's due to public distaste at production methods. new legislation stopped cruel rearing practices in Britain and production and sales are rising despite high prices. Production in 1992 is expected to be 3,000 tons. Fair trading in the European Community however, does mean that calves can be exported abroad, fattened under cruel conditions and reimported as veal.
