Something out of the ordinary
Article Abstract:
It takes a great deal of determination to succeed as a playwright, according to Pam Gems, who is currently the only British female playwright to have a show in the West End of London. She has always been direct and forceful, and remains very influential, even though she is now in her seventies. Her plays have often been linked with feminist issues, and she has become widely admired for her robust humour and unique turn of phrase.

Article Abstract:
Stage managers compile reports on every performance of a show, with notes on every minute difference. Absences, illnesses, accidents missing props and running times are recorded. Technicians rectify problems by the next performance. Actors may need a word of advice. The reports are written with restraint and refer to actors as 'Mr Someone' and 'Miss Somebody.' They aim to offer exactly the same show to every audience.
