Sometimes it is right to sacrifice animals for our own well-being
Article Abstract:
Testing products on animals often involves the animals concerned undergoing considerable pain and suffering, and most people agree that this cannot be justified for unimportant products such as cosmetics. However, it is much more difficult to decide whether animal testing can be justified for drugs which can greatly enhance people's quality of life. People who oppose animal testing should seriously consider whether they would really not allow a drug which has been tested on animals to be used to treat a child dying of cancer. It is vital to find alternatives to animal testing, but in the meantime some animal testing is essential.

Does any movie have the right to call this brave man a coward?
Article Abstract:
The descendants of William Murdoch, who died in honourable circumstances in the sinking of the Titanic, are right to claim that he should not have been portrayed as a coward in the film 'Titanic.' However, historical revisionism need not necessarily be negative. Indeed, there are many arguments in favour of reviewing the status of public figures who have traditionally been regarded negatively. There are few people in real life who can legitimately be regarded as all bad. However, creative art should be able to create characters and scenes which prompt feelings of revulsion.

A mother's greatest sacrifice

Geraldine McGrory, who became a novice in the enclosed Benedictine order at Tyburn Covent in London, England, in 1995 and is now known as Sister Mary Joseph, is very sure that she has chosen the right way of life for her. She is now able to focus on loving God and serving the Church, and does not miss anything about her old way of life. Her mother Margaret believes that children should be able to determine the course of their life for themselves, and is very proud of her daughter's decision.
