Still small voice of calm
Article Abstract:
There are always many surprises in life, according to opera singer John Tomlinson. He has found that his voice has continued to develop, and he can now sing roles that he would have found impossible in his 20s and 30s. He believes that young singers should not seek to become associated with big productions immediately, but should focus on gaining as much experience as possible. He believes that it took him 20 years to become what he regards as a finished singer.

Diva rediviva
Article Abstract:
Kyra Vayne, who was a well known soprano opera singer in the 1930s, later lived for many years in obscurity. However, her early recordings were reissued on CD in 1995, and she has since received great critical acclaim. Sales of the CD were much higher than expected, and a second CD has been released recently. She did a great deal of broadcasting for the BBC, but most of those tapes were destroyed.
