What is politics about? It's about pouring poison on people
Article Abstract:
The recently published Scott report does not attribute blame to individual government ministers, and no resignations will therefore take place. However, it has inflicted damage on the concept of ministerial accountability, and reflects badly on public ethics. It is now clear that politics in the UK is set to become increasingly dominated by issues relating directly to the personal actions of individual government ministers.

Secretive, incompetent, chaotic
Article Abstract:
The political system in the UK has been revealed as inefficient and secretive in the report published following the inquiry by Sir Richard Scott into the arms-for-Iraq affair. The report exonerates individual government ministers, but is very critical of a political system which it sees as being in urgent need of change. It concludes that the government failed to comply with key constitutional principals.
