Tanks for the wildlife
Article Abstract:
The Ministry of Defence owns or is permitted to use parts of nine of the 11 National Parks in England and Wales, a situation which is a cause of concern for ramblers and environmentalists. Tension between the two sides has been increased by Army plans to develop the large Otterburn training area, which is located in the centre of the Northumberland National Park. This would involve widening almost 30 miles of roads through the training area and constructing new accommodation for soldiers.

If a beard was good enough for Jesus, why not New Labour?
Article Abstract:
It appears that bearded men are often viewed rather negatively in the UK. Some observers believe that men with beards are strange and unreliable, while others regard beards as unattractive and unhygienic. This may be why leading bearded members of the Labour party have been encouraged to shave off their beards. In fact, bearded men are no different from the rest of the population, and resent being made to feel guilty for deciding not to shave.
