Taxing time for tech workers: an obscure section of the last Budget called IR35 threatens to drive thousands of IT contractors abroad

The UK Inland Revenue is taking action against Personal Service Companies (PSCs) through the IR35 section of the 2000 Budget. It believes that there are too many people working through PSCs who would be employees if the PSC did not exist and they worked directly for a customer. It is now taxing the PSC and its owner on the basis of the owner being an employee of the client.
