The Archers move to Peyton Place
Article Abstract:
Radio 4 has been running 'The Village,' a soap opera which features the real Hampshire village of Bentley, for some years. This has now been converted into a television soap opera, which will soon be broadcast across the UK three times a week. The outside observer will probably see the events portrayed as harmless, but the decision to convert to television format has caused considerable controversy among the residents of Bentley. Some residents find the television cameras intrusive, and feel that the new format is manipulative.

Article Abstract:
The Red Cross has recently launched the HelpAd scheme, under which brands can sell space on their packaging to other brands and then donate the proceedings to charity. This is part of a wider trend towards advertising in unusual sites, known as 'terrorist advertising.' Consumers have become very accustomed to seeing advertisements in many different places, so advertisers are now having to adopt shock tactics to gain attention. New advertising sites include inside public toilets and on egg shells.
