'The Betty Ford Clinic changed my life.' (singer Lorna Luft)(Revelations)
Article Abstract:
An individual's addiction affects their entire family, according to singer Lorna Luft. She found this when she attended the Betty Ford Clinic in 1984 because her sister Liza Minelli was there and clinic staff wanted to arrange a family treatment programme. Attending the clinic was to prove a turning point in her life. She began to realize that she had covered up many of her childhood experiences, and started to relate her problems with cocaine addiction to her mother's addiction problems. She found it a great release to realize that there were rational explanations for her behaviour.

'Meeting Mandela was the moment everything clicked together.' (musician Jim Kerr)(Revelations)
Article Abstract:
Meeting Nelson Mandela following his release and a concert to mark his birthday at Wembley Stadium in London, England, was an incredible experience, according to musician Jim Kerr. The group Simple Minds, founded by Kerr and Charlie Burchill, had played a key role in ensuring that the 'Free Nelson Mandela' concert went ahead. Indeed, the group's song 'Mandela Day' became the flagship song for this event. Kerr feels that he is still on a journey, both musically and physically.
