The Prescott interview
Article Abstract:
Many ordinary people in the UK are now turning away from the Conservative party, according to Labour party deputy leader John Prescott. They firmly trust party leader Tony Blair, and believe that he will be able to work well with Prescott. He does not believe that the Labour party will win a landslide victory in the forthcoming general election, and is unwilling to make any predictions about his own position in a future Labour government. He is travelling great distances, but is still closely involved in the party's election strategy.

'Bruiser' with a mission to put Labour in power
Article Abstract:
The effectiveness of the personal relationship between Labour party leader Tony Blair and deputy leader John Prescott has been one of the main achievements of the past year, according to John Prescott. He believes that this relationship has been successful because it has been based on political will, rather than on necessity. He has campaigned strongly for the reorganisation of the party, and has met his own target for boosting membership.

'When change follows change follows change, the party is bound to be left feeling uneasy.' (UK Labour party's deputy leader John Prescott)(Interview)
Article Abstract:
The UK Labour party must ensure that it fights to win the next general election on the basis of sound policy, rather than image, according to John Prescott, the party's deputy leader. UK politics is strongly based on substance of ideas, and some campaigning methods from abroad are therefore inappropriate. His relationship with party leader Tony Blair is set to become a key issue as the party prepares for the next general election.
