The machine that ate George Michael
Article Abstract:
Musician George Michael filed a writ against his recording company Sony, with whom he has a contract giving him low royalties. He originally signed with CBS Records but Sony took them over in 1988. He felt they did not keep their marketing promises, particularly in respect of his charity album 'Red Hot and Dance.' George Michael considers Sony treats recording artists as software and do not appreciate their artistry and individuality. Their management methods are short-term and dictatorial.
