The day Fiona McCrae sat down for foie gras with the cream of the establishment
Article Abstract:
It was strange seeing celebrities in the flesh, according to Fiona McCrae, who was invited by the Lord Mayor of London, England, to attend a lunch at the Mansion House honouring some of the most highly-regarded people of the 20th century. She was nominated to attend the lunch by an anonymous person from her home town of Auchencairn, Scotland. She had a kidney transplant at the age of eight, and participated in five Transplant Games between the ages of 11 and 15. She welcomes the fact that the lunch brought together people from many different backgrounds.

Top sailors call it Hell on High Water. This year, the race lived up to its name
Article Abstract:
The 1998 Sydney to Hobart yacht race has been very badly affected by severe weather conditions. A total of 115 yachts began the race, but 67 have now withdrawn after battling against winds of up to 80 knots and swells of almost 10 mt. Two sailors are known to have died, while the search for British sailor Glyn Charles, who was washed overboard, has been called off. A further three sailors are missing. Rescuers have had to remove 56 sailors from the sea.
