The downside of the pill that's billed as an up
Article Abstract:
It is possible to argue that there are a number of negative factors associated with Pfizer's Viagra male impotence pill, which has received a great deal of publicity in the US. There are indications that Viagra is being abused, with men taking far more than the recommended dose, thus leaving themselves in danger of health problems. A thriving black market has emerged, and there are also reports that the drug has unpleasant side-effects. It is also important to be aware that Viagra only boosts the male erection when sexual desire is present.

Sex, hype and a little blue pill
Article Abstract:
The share price of pharmaceutical concern Pfizer has increased strongly in line with the popularity of the company's Viagra treatment for male impotence. In the US, the success of Viagra has opened up public discussion about issues which where previously regarded as private. In Spain, the pill seems to have tapped into the growing insecurity of men. In France, it has been received with a mixture of curiosity and amusement. It works by blocking the enzyme phosphodiesterase, which causes erections to subside.

His 'n' her pills
Article Abstract:
Many people are aware that Viagra, the new treatment for impotence, and Xenical, a new weight-loss drug, will bring unpleasant side-effects, some of which nobody yet knows about. However, this will not prevent them taking these drugs. It is also important to consider the possible social consequences of these drugs. Viagra and Xenical may rid society of one set of neuroses, but will replace them with a different set.
