The echoing voices of a land where folly and courage lie side by side
Article Abstract:
It is becoming increasingly difficult to know how the First World War should be remembered. In modern society, great emphasis is placed on the futility of war, and some of those who were associated with the First World War believe that insufficient attention is now given to the courage and sacrifice of those who fought and were killed and to the fact that the war was not unpopular. It is easy to understand why the Second World War had to be fought, but this is not the case with the First World War.

A relationship that mellows with age
Article Abstract:
There are great similarities between the UK and France, with both having always attempting to impose their view of history and culture on the rest of the world. They have similar economic strength, and both wish to keep a nuclear deterrent. Against this background, it is not surprising that France cannot understand why there is now a growing anti-European sentiment in the UK. This comes at a time when the two countries had been planning to set up a tactical partnership.

A soldier with presidential vision
Article Abstract:
General Colin Powell remains undecided on some key political issues, but has already become very popular with ordinary voters. He rose from a very poor background to become the leading general in the US, and now looks set to enjoy similar political success. If he decides to become a presidential candidate for the Republican party, he would undoubtedly have a significant impact on the outcome of the presidential elections.
