The incredible thing is that they can talk to me
Article Abstract:
The musical 'Dr Dolittle' makes extensive use of animatronics, allowing the audience to feel that the main character is talking to the animals and that the animals can talk back. The 92 puppets and 12 operators required for the production are all supervised by specialists at Jim Henson's Creature Shop. All operators are trained performers, many of whom take responsibility for live sound effects and voices. The most complex puppet character is Polynesia, a parrot made up of two glove puppets and two animatronics.

Pensions not Porsches, art not Armani
Article Abstract:
Wealthy young Britons are abandoning the ostentation with which they became associated in the 1980s. They are still spending a lot of money on housing, clothes, holidays and cars, but are buying items that are more classic and much less flashy. They are seeking quality and craftsmanship from designer goods and luxury brands, and are placing more emphasis on emotional wealth, rather than material wealth. They are aware that the job market is insecure, and this is encouraging them to invest for the future.
