British designer of the year Rifat Ozbek, who was born in Turkey, stole the show in Milan. Ozbek's focused collection, which was manufactured by the Italian firm Aeffe, included flattering layers and a good sense of proportion. His embroidered officers' jackets were an improvement on the popular military style. He mixed luxurious textiles with modern shapes. His models wore short skirts over long over longer. His jackets were cut in points over each thigh.
