The show must go on (radio)
Article Abstract:
Radio has traditionally played a key role in nurturing new talent, and there have been a considerable number of shows which began on radio and then transferred successfully to television. However, the reverse now seems to be happening too, with old television situation comedies being revived as radio shows. These include 'To the Manor Born, 'Rumpole of the Bailey' and 'As Time Goes By.' This trend is serving to blur the distinction between radio and television, a development which not all observers regard as positive.

If the SS cap fits
Article Abstract:
There have been many examples over the last 50 years of British actors being asked to play Nazis. British actors seem to have the right appearance, and are well suited to portraying the theatricality of leading Nazis. Playing a Nazi has served to greatly boost the career of some British actors, including Ralph Fiennes, who played a death camp commandant in 'Schindler's List.' Most recenlty, British actors are appearing in a restaging of 'Nuremberg,' a dramatic transcription of the war crimes trials.

A ringside view of the greats
Article Abstract:
Biographer Victor Bockris, who was born and educated in the UK but moved to New England at the age of 15, has from time to time considered returning to live in the UK. This is mainly because he believes that there is not really any material left for him in New York, NY. He has focused on the people who were members of Andy Warhol's Bloomsbury Group in 1960s New York. However, he has also covered other subjects, including Muhammad Ali, with whom his only link was poetry.
