Monica
Article Abstract:
It has become increasingly difficult to categorize Monica Lewinsky into a convenient stereotype. She has been variously portrayed as a seducer, the product of a privileged upbringing and a vulnerable victim, but it is now becoming clear that her relationship with President Bill Clinton may well have been a consensual one based on mutual affection. She is probably not an opportunist, but too much is known about her background to regard her as an innocent girl who was wronged by Clinton. Observers find it particularly difficult to come to terms with her appetite and her desires.

Will men surrender to the Fluffragettes?
Article Abstract:
There has been strong interest in the Fluffy Manifesto launched recently in the Daily Mail newspaper by Cherri Gilham. This aims to restore women's femininity, encouraging women never to be aggressive or contradict men. The book 'The Princessa,' written by Harriet Rubin, takes a similar line. It shows women who are not afraid to use their femininity to their advantage, but who are also aware that they may face conflict with men. It is certainly true that feminism has avoided addressing what power means, but these new approaches do not really seem to offer any answers.
