Porridge mixed with politics
Article Abstract:
The Kilmainham Jail Museum in Dublin, Ireland, is situated in the first jail in the world to be used exclusively for political prisoners. The jail once housed well known Irish nationalist leaders, and the museum now has a permanent exhibition looking at how Irish history has been shaped by famine, civil disorder and war. It has received extensive investment recently, and now uses latest technology to allow visitors to gain a better impression of what life in the jail was like. It has received a Large Museum of the Year award from the Gulbenkian Foundation.

The politician who lives like a prince
Article Abstract:
Charles Haughey, a leading Irish politician from the 1950s to the 1990s, has attracted very mixed emotions. He is admired for bringing Ireland closer to the European Union, but his skills as a statesmen are not generally as well remembered as his links with scandal and crisis. He has recently been implicated in payments to politicians made by businessman Ben Dunne, but totally denies receiving any money from this company or an associate company.
