The tour's the thing
Article Abstract:
Taking a play on tour to a country with a very different culture from that of the UK can be a mixed experience for a British theatre company. This is what Shared Experience found when it took a production of 'The Tempest' to Japan, South Korea, Israel and Palestine. The actors must perform through interpreters, which can pose unusual problems, and must deal with behaviour in audiences with which they are unfamiliar. It can be a great responsibility taking a very well-known play to new audiences for the first time.

Polly Pocket could teach us a thing or two
Article Abstract:
Te UK toy market is now worth 1.64 billion pounds sterling a year, and manufacturers are constantly introducing new products. Children certainly gain enjoyment and benefits from toys, and certain types of play are important for their intellectual and physical development. However, they do not necessarily need sophisticated, expensive toys. They benefit most from playing with other children and with adults, and no amount of toys can make up for a lack of people to play with.

Who's fit to teach?
Article Abstract:
There is no industry standard which gives a clear indication of the competence or qualifications of exercise instructors in the UK. In some cases, instructors fail to take clients' medical problems into consideration, or even give advice which is actually dangerous. At some fitness centres, no instruction is given on how to use the equipment. It is important to check the qualifications of an instructor before joining a class.
