The who's who of Blair's top team
Article Abstract:
It now seems very likely that the UK Labour party will win the general election on May 1, 1997, with party leader Tony Blair becoming Prime Minister. His first important task will be to appoint a Cabinet. Some appointments are relatively certain, including those of Jack Straw as Home Secretary and Gordon Brown as Chancellor. However, others are much less easy to predict. There will also be new appointments in the Civil Service, and these could attract considerable controversy.
