There is no cheap fix for bad parenting
Article Abstract:
The UK government should recognize that the notion that children should be helped and adults punished is misguided. It is important to realize that parents who consume drugs or alcohol to the extent that they cannot take their children to school are not merely ignoring their parental responsibilities, but have a serious alcohol or drug abuse problem, and probably also mental health problems. Such people need help, not punishment.
