Thomas the Tank Engine stole my son
Article Abstract:
The Thomas the Tank Engine character created by Reverend W. Awdrey in 1942 has grown increasingly popular with children worldwide in the 1990's, with many licensed character products available from toys to food products. Britt Allcroft acquired rights to the Thomas books in 1982, with her company spending 13.5 million pounds sterling in 1997 to obtain perpetual rights. Allcroft claims young children like the Thomas stories because they are tales of goodness and affection, but Thomas also appeals to children because the marketing makes him instantaneously recognisable. The animated series is broadcast in 121 countries.

Saturday afternoon fever
Article Abstract:
Interest in morris dancing in the UK seems to be fuelled mainly by an attraction to the rural idyll. Morris dancers like the fact that they can dress up to make themselves look glamorous, and also find that morris dancing is a very good form of exercise. There is also a strong social element to morris dancing, with many morris dancing events being based around a local pub. Some morris dancing groups only admit men, while others are now allowing women to participate too.
