The worst politicians are those who use rhetoric to defend the indefensible, according to satirists John Bird and John Fortune. They address this and many other political issues in their performances. At present, they are undertaking a six-date tour, and are using elements of local interest in each performance. They met as young men at Cambridge University, and have been involved in satire in various different forms for many years.

Literature and pornography have traditionally been separate from each other, but this is no longer the case. Since the 1980s, pornography has gradually become an element of literature, and pornography now overlaps with the mainstream novel. It can be argued that this is a positive trend, as serious novelists have learnt things from pornography, including how to express sensuality.
