UK: BUISNESS AIR FARES CONTINUE TO RISE
Article Abstract:
It has been revealed first-class air fares have risen 2% in Britain while business fares have increased by 1% in the last quarter of 1999 and over the last two years have increased by an average of 9%. Economy fares have fallen, but this is due to the airlines using more North Atlantic routes due to the Asian crisis, however, the capacity is to be scaled back in the year 2000 as carriers return aircraft to the Asian routes. However, the rise in business air fares are set to rise further due to the aviation fuel prices that keep rising, as well as airlines are starting to reduce their capacity.
