UK: SRA REVEALS FALL IN TRAIN PUNCTUALITY
Article Abstract:
The Strategic Rail Authority (SRA) has revealed that train punctuality fell during the summer of 2000. The performance of 19 out of 25 passenger train operators fell compared to the same period in 1999. Only three operators improved, Cardiff Railway improved punctuality by 7%, Gatwick Express by 3% and Island Line up by 1%. However, the worst offenders are said to have been Connex South Eastern, Merseyrail Electrics and Anglia, all of which recorded a 6% increase in the number of late trains.
