UK: STEPHEN KING LAUNCHES NOVEL ON INTERNET
Article Abstract:
The best-selling author Stephen King has decided to publish the first two chapters of his latest novel "The Plant" on the Internet. Fans can download the text for a dollar for each chapter. However, it is possible to download it for nothing but if the percentage of honest readers falls below 75% then King will not release anymore of the book and no one will find out what happens. The potential of e-publishing has been encouraged by new technology. However it will take years before e-books match the printed word for ease of use although increased hand-held device numbers means more people have access to electronic texts.
