UN body pulls out of Bosnia after convoy hit
Article Abstract:
Serbian militants attacked a United Nations relief convoy of 12 trucks in Teslic, Bosnia and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) suspended operations. The UN peace plan in Croatia failed when the Yugoslav army refused to withdraw from UN-protected areas. Serbian and Croatian leaders signed the UN peace plan in Jan 1992 but it has been continually transgressed. President Alija Izetbegovic could not leave Sarajevo, which is under Serbian control, to attend EC-sponsored peace talks in Lisbon on May 23 1992. The Serbs ordered total mobilisation in Bosnia. The European Conference on Security and Cooperation (CSCE) will investigate the situation in Kosovo.

Troops in tears as aid reaches starving town
Article Abstract:
In Nov 1992 17 lorries of food and clothes were the first United Nations aid convoy to reach Srebrenica, Bosnia-Herzegovina in eight months. There are 70,000 starving people there, including about 30,000 Muslims moved by ethnic cleansing. Serbs had ruined most of the town centre. There is no soap, detergent or medical supplies. Operations have to be performed without anaesthetics. The people are cold, hungry and many dress in rags. Food gathering groups go out at night, but the Serbs lay mines.

Croatian road helps to divide Bosnia spoils
Article Abstract:
The Croatian Defence Council of Herceg Bosna in Bosnia is building a mountain road from Kiseljak to Split, a port providing food and arms. The border between Kisljak and Idiza goes past Sarajevo, where 300,000 people hope the Croatian forces will free them. Mate Boban, President of Herceg Bosna, does not recognise Bosnia and the border is peaceful. Life in Kiseljak is normal and many Muslims shelter there.
