Vice-Admiral Sir Fitzroy Talbot
Article Abstract:
Naval officer Arthur Fitzroy Talbot studied at the naval college in Dartmouth, England, between 1923 and 1926. He first went to sea in 1927 as a midshipman in 'Royal Oak.' Some time later he opted out of general service for the Fleet Air Arm. He was involved in an aircraft collision, and this put an end to his flying career. He returned to the Fleet, and was given his own command while still a Lieutenant. He was appointed Vice-Admiral in 1962, and was one of the last Commanders-in Chief South Atlantic and South Africa.
